Designing Packaging for Art: UAU Project

Brand

Packaging serves all types of purposes. One of them can be… becoming a vital part of a design exhibition! In this part of our Inspirations series, we present a designer studio UAU Project. The company has utilized the cardboard boxes from Packhelp to present their new products.

Design your minimalistic decor

UAU Project reaches to the most abstract, unusual schools of design. Among the products of UAU Project, we can find a minimalistic, tiny one-plant greenhouse jar called GROWW and NEPTUNE - a customizable set of lights that change the brightness based on the position of the lamp. All of the products of UAU Project are supposed to fit into a minimalistic decor.

Moreover, the founders of the company - Miłosz Dąbrowski and Justyna Fałdzińska - are fascinated by 3D printing.

“Currently our main interest is exploring and experimenting with consumer-oriented 3D printing for use in home production. We want to show that 3D printing is the best way to make good design accessible.”

The aesthetics of the cardboard packaging

The paths of UAU Project and Packhelp crossed due to a particular event called Gdynia Design Days. The founders of the company sought a solution that would be both compact and relate to the products. The boxes made from carton were a perfect solution.

“We looked for a solution that would allow us to transport our products during the fair. Cardboard boxes are durable and minimalistic. We liked the idea of keeping a brown cardboard as a background for our exhibition.”

Eco-friendly mark

UAU Project pays attention to the ecological footprint too. The cardboard boxes captured the mood of the products and allowed them to shine during the event. The black imprint created an intriguing background. Additionally, the boxes emphasized the eco-friendly attitude.

“Our environment is of utmost importance to us, so most of the materials we use are either biodegradable or highly recyclable. Therefore, our exhibition was supposed to be eco-friendly too. Cardboard is recycled and doesn’t generate additional trash, because we used the boxes for moving our products later on. It was a perfect solution for us.”
