The vision and the challenges
From the beginning, packaging was not an indifferent topic for Sord. It was meant to be an extension of the brand’s lifestyle vision, a promise of functionality, and a marketing tool.
The brand was created for active, modern men who want to take care of themselves but need their skincare to be as convenient for everyday use as it is effective.
With this in mind, Sord needed practical packaging that would fit easily into a gym bag or on a plane, be spill-proof, and, with its aesthetic design, enhance the look of any bathroom shelf.
Nevertheless, packaging for cosmetics must also meet strict regulatory standards that concern displaying the ingredients, expiry dates, and other required details, all while navigating usually high minimum order quantities (MOQs).

Primary and Secondary Packaging:
To meet the strict regulatory demands around labelling, Packhelp devised a packaging that included both primary and secondary packaging, enabling Sord to list ingredients on the outer layer while allowing flexibility in the final product formulations.
Consulting and Supplier Network:
With Packhelp’s Innovation Team and the vast network of manufacturers and consultants, the burden of contacting distributors, finding manufacturers, and suitable production lines has been lifted off the brand. The support allowed Sord to make informed decisions to develop the packaging.
Customised Constructions:
Cosmetic sets, perfect for gifting and creative brand mailings, have become a signature feature for Sord. To protect and showcase these products, we designed precise, custom cut-out inserts for both Sord’s Mailer Boxes and Rigid Boxes.
40 manufacturers were screened for producing the primary packaging for face and hand creams and face gel.
3 were eventually selected for each of the products as a precaution if one of them dropped out.
4 people from Packhelp were engaged in the project. These included research and production team members, a constructor and a DTP person.
2 designs were created especially for Sord: Mailer Box and Rigid Box with tailor-made inserts for cosmetic kits.

For this collection, Packhelp created special Magnetic Rigid Boxes with a soft-touch finish, creating a feel and look that aligns with the brand’s aesthetic. The Sord gift sets will look right at home under the Christmas tree.
