FAQ

Can I print on the inside the tube?

Yep. You can print directly on the inside of your paper cans with offset paper (and outside with label paper) using high-volume offset printing in vivid CMYK or PMS.

Why can’t the tube's diameter be smaller than 45mm?

The forming machines used to produce your paper cans are restricted to 45mm for safety and quality reasons.

Do you also make tubes from 100% paper?

Sure, you can order 100% paper/cardboard based tubes with cardboard lids. Just make your request during the quoting process.

Can food be stored directly in the paper tubes?

Not exactly. The standard cardboard used in our paper cans is not certified to have direct contact with food products. But upon request, we can add an extra food-safe foil to make them ISEGA certified.  Just make the request during the quoting process. TIP: the tube itself doesn’t need food-safe certification if there is a food-safe separator or wrapping already in place between the food product and the tube.

Can I put powders inside these paper cans?

No, we wouldn’t recommend it. TIP: check out our Stand Up Pouches, which are designed to hold powders and other dry goods.

Can I order plain paper tubes?

Sure. Just make sure that you select “no print” during the quoting process.

What is the production time? Why is it so long?

In general, the average production time is 7 weeks, although it can be 4-5 weeks for paper cans with metal lids. Our paper cans take a little longer than our other products due to the complexity of production. Apart from the usual cardboard production and printing, the paper cans are processed in production batches based on diameter. Each change in diameter requires a recalibration of the whole production line, which can be a lengthy process. Feel free to drop us a message during the quoting process and our packaging experts will be able to advise you on lead times and ways to optimise the process.
