FAQ

If you want to get technical, the industry standard is to measure this type of cardstock by grammage – or grams per square metre (gsm). But as a general rule, the heavier the stock, the thicker and sturdier it normally is. The Cake Box is available in three paper grades. The standard grammage is 300gsm for both White and Kraft. You can also request 350 or 400gsm in White. If you need the exact thickness by the millimetre, reach out during the quoting process and our Packaging Experts will answer your questions in detail.

No, we wouldn’t recommend it. The Cake Box is designed to be primary packaging to display baked goods and for in-store pick-up. TIP: you can combine the cake box with shipping packaging to ensure your cakes, muffins or macaroons arrive safely to your customer. Check out the Corrugated Mailer Box or the Shipping Box for bigger orders.

It depends. The strength of your custom baked goods box will be determined by the construction design and the material (300-400gsm) you choose. Reach out during the quoting process and our Packaging Experts can provide you with a solution tailored to your product’s specifications.

Yep. The cake box comes with pre-scored folds for quick & easy assembly, along with instructions. And if you want to make it even easier, you can also request a pre-glued option.

These cake boxes are delivered flat for easy and cost-effective storage. You can also choose a pre-glued design to be delivered folded flat, which speeds up assembly even more.

The cardstock can be coated with an extra food-safe foil and your cake boxes will be ISEGA certified for direct contact with food. Just make the request during the quoting process. TIP: the box itself doesn’t need food-safe certification if there is a food-safe separator or wrapping already in place between the food product and the box.
