Which variant of Mailer Boxes fits my product?

All of our mailer boxes are made of cardboard. This means that the choice depends mostly on your vision of the packaging. Here are some tips:

  • Eco boxes are the most “raw” variant in our range. They include a black imprint, but we strongly suggest to include only small graphics. Eco Mailer Boxes are perfect for minimalist brands, as well as emphasizing eco-friendly conduct. They are also our cheapest product – in the case your business is only starting, a small order of Eco Mailer Boxes is the perfect solution.
  • Eco White is similar to Eco, but the cardboard is whitened. Eco White looks more elegant, and a more spacious black imprint will look amazing. The orders of Eco White range from very artsy to minimalist – it’s for brands with a bold style of communication.
  • Eco Color is where the raw cardboard and the full CMYK palette meet. The colorful imprint is performed on a whitened cardboard. Eco Color will not give you the most saturated imprint, but instead – it imbues the packaging with an interesting shade.
  • Full Color is our premium solution. This variant of Mailer Boxes includes a thicker wall, while the imprint is performed on a white layer. Full Color Mailer Boxes are also available with various finish options – matt and glossy foil and white inside. These boxes are perfect for upscale brands.
What products can fit in Mailer Boxes?

Mailer Boxes vary in terms of sizes. This means that there is plenty of products that can be shipped in mailer boxes. Here’s a list of our standard sizes and possible products that can fit.

Can I order Eco Color boxes with natural cardboard?

Unfortunately not. Eco Color boxes are printed only on whitened cardboard. However, we plan to include an option for imprint on natural cardboard in the future.

What is the difference between Full Color and Eco Color standards?

The main difference is the printing technique (UV for Eco Color boxes). In Eco Color mailer boxes, the imprint is performed directly on the whitened cardboard. In case of Full Color mailer boxes, the imprint is performed on an additional layer of carton (carton GD2 with 180 g/m2 grammage), which is then coated to the cardboard walls of the box. Such technique causes Full Color boxes to have thicker walls and more saturated palette of colours than Eco Color.

Tip: The imprint technique used in Eco Color manufacturing may cause that the cardboard will subtly absorb the paint. This may cause the colours to look little less saturated than in the Full Color version. Additionally, Full Color option includes options for several add-ons – adding matt or glossy foil and changing the colour of the inside of the box to white instead of standard natural. Those additional options are not available in the Eco Color version of mailer boxes.

What paperboard do you use to manufacture mailer boxes?

In the case of mailer boxes, we use three-layer corrugated cardboard – natural or one-sided bleached.

For the F23, F33, F44, F45, F52, F59, F62, F71, F79, F93 sizes and for all non-standard sizes smaller than F93, we use the cardboard with E flute (approx. 2 mm) and grammage of 340 g/m2. For the F112 size, we use the cardboard with B flute (approx. 3 mm) and grammage of 450 g/m2.

On request we can make boxes in a non-standard size we can make cardboard boxes with wave E or B.

The Full Color Boxes have an additional layer of underlay on which to print. For this purpose we use high quality GD2 cardboard with a weight of 210 g/m2.

In the Full Color variant we offer an additional layer of foil – matte or glossy.

What is a mailer box?

A mailer box is a paperboard packaging designed to store and send your products. Thanks to interlocking flaps and wings, it is easy to assemble and requires no adhesive tape to be assembled and closed. Its double side walls make it durable and more resistant to transport than other types of paperboard packaging. This way it can be used many times.

The type of mailer boxes offered by Packhelp is the FEFCO 427.
