Recycled packaging for your small business

Resuing waste is the easiest way to make your brand more sustainable and create more circularity in your supply chain. Packhelp's range of certified recyclable packaging makes it easier for your brand to do just that. Whether you use the traditional cardboard mailer box, a cardboard tube, or even recycled plastic mailing bags, Packhelp's range of supplies can be customised according to your brand's design needs.

FSC-C151608 certified recycled packaging

Packhelp's range of recycled mailer boxes are all made from FSC certified materials. This means that the materials used in the packaging are approved by the Forest Stewardship Council®. This certification means that the final product is made up of a minimum of 80% recycled material

The recycling process

The beauty of recycling is that is turns waste products into something new. But the process that cardboard goes through to be recycled involves beating it to a pulp - literally. Paper pulp is cardboard in it's rawest form. It's a thick paste that's then mixed with virgin, unused pulp and turned into new cardboard products.

Why not 100% recycled?

In beating the waste cardboard to a pulp, the wood fibres are damaged, broken, and therefore shortened. Wood fibres can only be so short or broken so many times before they use all structural integrity. The addition of 100% raw FSC certified paper pulp into the mix ensures that your recycled packaging is made of recycled goods, but also structurally sound and not compromising on performance.

What's the difference between recyclable and biodegradable packaging?

There's a slight difference, but the importance between these two distinctions is important.   Recyclable means that the material can be broken down and reprocessed into another product. Cardboard is a great example. Biodegradable means that the material naturally decomposes over time and leaves no harmful substances. Something can be recyclable and not biodegradable (plastic) or both biodegradable and recyclable (cardboard).
